Place barleystraw bale in the pond in February - one month in advance of warm March days. Add replacement bale in June so that is activated before the earlier one is due for removal. 2nd bale due out in November - no barleystraw required December and January due to the cold.

Maintenance:
|
|
Bale is best positioned near waterfall or pump outlet so moving water rushes through the barleystraw. Remove each bale after it has been in the pond 6 months.
|
