Be plant wise

The ban of 5 aquatic plants has finally come into law on 1 April 2014.

Watch out – the following plants should not be for sale anywhere – Azolla filiculoides (Fairy Moss), Crassula helmsii (Stonecrop), Hydrocotyle ranunculoides, Ludwigia grandiflora (Water Primrose), Myriophyllum aquaticum (Parrots Feather).

It is now illegal to sell these and if they are already in your pond you need to be aware you are dealing with a banned, invasive plant that cannot be allowed to escape into natural waterways so on our Tips and Advice page – Invasive pond plants – we show you all the images to help you with identification.
