  • We select plants for you for a larger wildlife pond area of approx. 7 - 14.9 sq m surface area (75 - 160 sq ft)
  • 18 portions British Native submerged oxygenators, 24 marginal shelf plants (sent as 6 sets of 3 upright plants and 2 sets of 3 rafting plants, ready potted), 3 potted waterlilies. All plant choices depend on seasonal availability.

Plants chosen will include a mix of horizontally rafting and upright emergent growth plants to encourage breeding newts and emerging dragonflies. Good plants for pollinating bees, hoverflies and butterflies will be included too. (See Planting a wildlife pond page).

We would recommend the additional purchase of 6 contour baskets one for each of the 6 sets of 3 upright plant sets to put each small basket of a plant type together in a contour with added gravel (not supplied) for stability and the effect of an instant, large clump.

We recommend the additional purchase of 3 of Aponogeton distachyos if it is seasonally available to add to the flowering interest period in your pond.

The plants will come wrapped individually in their standard size mesh baskets and should be placed in the pond at the correct depths for each different species so that each area of the pond is creating a habitat for a different wildlife group.

I heard about your nursery when I visited Chelsea flower show this year. My order of pond plants arrived packed very well and the plants are of an excellent quality. I have now planted them in my new pond and shall look forward to watching them grow.

Well packed plants but delivered to wrong house and stood on step for 3 hot days. Now too early to tell if alright as no growth at all so far. Have talked to sympathetic Waterside person so am hopeful and may have to try again. Appreciate instructions and other service.
