Water Hawthorn budding on our icy ponds

Water Hawthorn (Aponogeton distachyos) buds and leaves were frozen into the ice of our troughs on the Nursery again this morning. It has been so mild they have grown well and reached the surface but the top leaves will blacken now they have been frosted.

New ones will soon arrive from the protected crowns that are well under the water surface to take their place.

Newly rooted 2 litre plants  are  'Available to Buy' as they have been off sale all winter until now.
