Chlorine Guard removes harmful chlorine, chloridamides and heavy metals from tap water, when used to fill up a pond.

An environmentally friendly product based on seaweed extracts it removes toxic chemicals from tap water used for topping up ponds making it safe for fish, wildlife and plants.

Supplied in - 250ml bottle

Treats - Tap water when filling/topping up a pond.

Directions and Dosage:

Use 10ml per 1000 litres (220 gallons) of total volume of pond water every time the pond is topped up. Using more than the recommended dose will not cause any harm.

Dosing rate is based on the total volume of water in the pond/container pond, not the volume of water being added. This is because the tap water is very likely to be at a higher or lower temperature than the pond water so will initially form a "layer" either at the top or bottom of the pond. If only a small amount of Chlorine Guard is added this will sit within the existing pond water zone and will be neutralised before the added tap water mixes with the existing pond water. If Chlorine Guard is dosed based on the volume of water in the pond this will be sufficient to treat both the existing and added water.

One 250ml bottle will treat ponds up to 4500 litres (1000 gallons) during a Summer - allowing for 5 top ups. Add the Chlorine Guard from the small 10ml measuring chamber near where the new water is entering the pond or container so that it is well mixed in.

To calculate the volume of your pond - length x width x depth in feet x 6.25 = volume in gallons

Volume of our container ponds - 60cm wide = 45 litres (10 gallons) and 80cm wide = 105 litres (23 gallons) so part of a measure is sufficient for these on every top up occasion.

Will my plants arrive potted?

Yes, all our 9cm, 11cm and 23cm Marginal Pond Plants, Deep Water plants and Waterillies will be sent out to you pre-planted in a mesh basket with our aquatic compost and will have been fed with an aquatic feed ball.

Bunched and loose Oxygenators will be sent out bareroot or bunched with a weight and can be dropped straight into the pond as they are delivered .

Moist plants are sent out in solid pots that you would remove before planting into the soil.

Can Koi fish or ducks eat my plants?

Yes, they may well do. We cannot guarantee that any plants will survive hungry fish and ducks. We would recommend going for Iris or woodier stemmed plants and forming some sort of barrier between the plants and any large fish or wild fowl.

How does my order arrive?

Plant orders are dispatched to UK destinations only but we cannot send to Northern Ireland. Your order will be picked in the Nursery and will be sealed in airtight, waterproof packaging to keep it fresh during transit. Please unwrap all plants from the packaging as soon as possible and place in the situation/depth specified on each plant ticket.
