Will my plants arrive potted?

  • Yes, all our 9cm, 11cm and 23cm Marginal Pond Plants, Deep Water plants and Waterillies will be sent out to you pre-planted in a mesh basket with our aquatic clay soil
  • Bunched and loose Oxygenators will be sent out bareroot or bunched with a weight and can be dropped straight into the pond as they are delivered.
  • Moist plants are sent out in solid pots that you would remove before planting into the soil.

How does my order arrive?

  • Plant orders are dispatched to UK destinations only but we cannot send to Northern Ireland. Your order will be picked in the Nursery and will be sealed in airtight, waterproof packaging to keep it fresh during transit. Please unwrap all plants from the packaging as soon as possible and place in the situation/depth specified on each plant ticket.

Is your packaging sustainable?

  •  We shred paper and cardboard as box filler. It's brought to us by a local business that cannot reuse it.
Our black bag box-lining is made from recycled material and is recyclable.
  • The plastic bags (LDPE) we wrap the plants in are classed as 'soft plastic' recycling code 4. Recyclable at recycling points in supermarkets in store.
  • We do need a plastic bag for our pond plants to arrive with you in good, damp condition. We have tested biodegradable options and found they do not hold water. The 'soft plastic' option is the best solution we have found.
  • We need to keep the cardboard box dry. A wet cardboard box will not travel successfully in the courier system.
  • Our cardboard boxes are new and specially sized to tightly hold our plant basket sizes so minimizing wasted space.
  • We use the smallest box possible to transport your order to you. They are strong and would be reusable to resend parcels or to put on a compost heap.
  • Our portions of Hornwort oxygenator are measured in a second-hand food tray but multiple portions are sent in one LDFE plastic bag.
  • The mail-pack bags from APC contain recycled materials and are again recyclable as LDPE.
