The Love Your Weekend programme showed a wooden planter made as a water feature that Camilla dressed with pond plants.
Camilla used our pond plants for this section of the programme.
The plants she used were:
Acorus gramineus Ogon - yellow and green arched grass, purple flowered Iris versicolor, Water Forget Me Not Myosotis scorpioides, black and green barred Equisetum scirpoides and yellow flowering Ranunculus flammula.
And in the deeper water area oxygenating plant Rorippa nasturtium aquaticum with white flowers on the water surface & small red flowered Dwarf waterlily Nymphaea Xiafei.
Carefully position any waterlily away from the fall of any water feature so water does not constantly splash on its leaves.
This project can be achieved in a short space of time as our shelf plants and waterlilies are all supplied rooted into mesh baskets and aquatic clay soil. Just as you see on the program when Camilla places them in the water.
Position them at the correct depth for each variety as per the ticket sent with each variety of plant in any water feature you wish to create over a weekend soon.
Thanks, Love Your Weekend for featuring water in the garden. This will encourage people to add some water to their garden space in lots of different ways.
Add water and the wildlife will come. With a water feature above ground you are helping dragonflies emerge on tall plants. Together with bees, butterflies and other air-borne pollinators in particular.
